(April 29, 2022) Last night numerous volunteers answered the call for service. Firefighters went to work as soon as they were alerted for a building fire located on a nearby farm. Our administrative members continued to support the various operations already in progress, including the concession stand at Hydes Rd, the blood drive at our station and in our event space preparing for upcoming rentals.

Firefighters battled the fire for three hours before returning to the station. With the help of multiple administrative volunteers, that were waiting for their return, the group worked for an additional two hours, cleaning and repacking hundreds of feet of hose to prepare the equipment for the next alarm.

The group finished up around midnight and headed home to prepare for work and school in the morning. Many of them hungry because they had missed dinner, the call was alerted just before 7pm.
