Dwelling Fire on Holly Branch Ct: Fire Box 38-7


07/10/10 - Around 10:15 Long Green and surrounding companies were alerted for a dwelling fire with people burned. E382 arrived to find a two story home with heavy smoke showing from the basement. Crews made an aggressive interior attack to save the house. Because of the reports going to dispatch they alerted several medic units as well. The medics transported three patients to the hospital for burns. Crews worked on location for about 4 hours. This was the third working fire that Long Green was on this week.

E382 Responds to Second Alarm Fire in Parkville: Fire Box 10-18


07/07/10 - Around 1am Long Green's Engine 382 responded on a second alarm fire on Ebony Road in Parkville. After 382 arrived the crew went right to work assisting with extinguishment and protecting the homes that were around the fire building. Long Greens crew was on location for about 3 hours.

2 Car MVC on Bottom Road: Local Box 38-13


07/06/10 - Around 3:50pm Long Green was alerted for an auto accident with injuries on Bottom Road. E382 arrived to find that two cars had glanced off of each other on the narrow road. The engine crew started patient care until iv485 arrived. IV485 transported the patients to the hospital. Units were on location for about 30 minutes.

Busy Day For Long Green Starts With Motorcycle Accident


06/26/10 - Around 12:50pm Long Green Was alerted for an accident involving a motorcycle at the intersection of Long Green Pike and Glen Arm Road. SU387 arrived at location and immediately started patient care and requested aviation to transport the patient to the hospital. Units on location continued patient care until the patient was transferred to the paramedic on the trooper. Other units on this call were E10(Handled the Landing Site), M55 and EMS1. Along with this call Long Green Handled six other calls on this busy Saturday.

LGVFC Conducts Live Fire Training at Fire Recue Academy


06/21/10 - On this hot Monday evening Long Green went to the Baltimore County Fire Rescue Academy to train on some live fire evolutions. The crews went through three evolutions including a basement fire, fire on the second floor and a fire on the entry level of a structure. Many skills learned during our last training down the FRA were used during this training. The crews ran evolutions for about three to four hours.

Combine Starts Feild Fire: Local Box 47-18


06/22/10 - Around 10am Jacksonville and Long Green were alerted for a combine on fire in a field off of Jarrettsville Pike. Jacksonville arrived to find about two acres on fire. This brought extra units to help assist with the field fire. Long Greens Crews assisted extinguishing the fire while Engine Tanker 381 Supplied E471 with water. About twenty minutes after returning from the call Jacksonville and Long Green were alerted to go back to the scene for a second fire in a different part of the field. Both companies returned to find about another acre on fire. Crews extinguished the fire and returned back to their fire houses. The cause of both fires is believed to be faulty farm equipment. Units were on location for both fires about an hour and half.

Auto Accident on Harford Road: Local Box 38-16


06/06/10 - Around 1 am Long Green was alerted to respond to an auto accident on Harford Road. Engine 382, Special Unit 387 responded to find a car had struck a telephone pole and rolled on its roof. The crews from Station 38 started patient care and stabilizing the scene. Once 485 arrived they took over patient care and transported the patient to the hospital. Units were on scene for about 40 minutes.

Auto Rollover on Glen Arm Road: Local Box 38-22


05/23/10 - Around 0830am Long Green was alerted for an auto accident with rollover on Glen Arm Road. Engine 382 arrived to find one car one car that had rolled down the embankment. E382 stabilized the patient and started patient care until IV485 arrived and transported the hospital. After the patient was transported the engine crew checked the scene and car for hazards then cleared. Units were on location for about a half hour.

Long Green Holds Open House


05/15/10 - Long Green had an open house to show the members of the community how The Long Green VFC operates and to try and increase our membership. We are always looking for new members to become active firefighters and emt's. Thanks to all that supported our pit beef sales.

Ladder and Hose Training at the Fire Rescue Academy


05/07/10 - On this Friday evening the members of Long Green went to the Baltimore County Fire Academy for training. While at the academy crew conducted multiple evolutions including, ladder, hand line advancement and search and rescue exercises. Many new techniques and basic skills were refreshed. The crews trained for about four hours.
