Combine Starts Feild Fire: Local Box 47-18

06/22/10 - Around 10am Jacksonville and Long Green were alerted for a combine on fire in a field off of Jarrettsville Pike. Jacksonville arrived to find about two acres on fire. This brought extra units to help assist with the field fire. Long Greens Crews assisted extinguishing the fire while Engine Tanker 381 Supplied E471 with water. About twenty minutes after returning from the call Jacksonville and Long Green were alerted to go back to the scene for a second fire in a different part of the field. Both companies returned to find about another acre on fire. Crews extinguished the fire and returned back to their fire houses. The cause of both fires is believed to be faulty farm equipment. Units were on location for both fires about an hour and half.
